Laura and Juan Carlos met in March 2023 in Mexico City.

After having lived in Mexico for a full year, it was Laura's last week in town. She attended a jewelry exhibition at the Museo Jumex with a girlfriend of hers on a Tuesday afternoon and when they came out, rain started pouring so they decided to go have a drink somewhere in order to escape the traffic.

They headed to a restaurant called "La Unica" and ordered a glass of rosé at the bar. Juan Carlos came in not long after with a friend of his and the two empty seats next to Laura and her friend caught his eye.

Juan Carlos started talking to Laura's friend who was seating next to him and eventually turned to Laura and asked her "What about you? What are you doing in Mexico City?". To which Laura replied "I'm actually leaving next week because I don't have a Mexican visa!".

Juan Carlos being a lawyer, he immediately offered his help to get Laura a Mexican visa so that she could stay in the country. He gave Laura his phone number and the girls left for dinner.

A week later, Laura was back home in France. She was talking to her friend from the museum who insisted she reached out to Juan Carlos, praising his charisma and kind gestures. Laura and Juan Carlos exchanged many, many, many messages. He asked her when he would get to see her next and she mentioned that she was about to go on a family vacation in the United States. Juan Carlos told Laura "tell me the location and the date and I will see you there".

They met up in Miami a month later and spent a few days getting to know each other better under the sun. The conversations were endless, they were always the last ones to leave the restaurant, and the connection was undeniable.

They now live together happily in Mexico City with Mishka & Shadow and enjoy traveling the world, writing the chapters of their fairytale love story...
